Research has shown that children who are regularly involved in active play

develop well on many levels, including physical, emotional, mental and

social. The idea behind soft play is for children to use their imagination and

become involved in exploratory play.

The soft play apparatus is, as the name suggests, ideally designed to be

soft so that it’s safe for children to play on. In many soft play areas, there

are multi-levels of play activities, including climbing frames, slides, ball

pools, crawl tubes, rope bridges and scramble nets. Children can dive in

and explore the area, allowing them to take risks in a safe and

secure environment.

Active and exploratory soft play helps children learn new motor skills in a

fun and stimulating environment. It helps develop physical activity and

encourages children to enjoy exercising, but as it’s essentially play it feels

fun and exciting for them.

At Bumbles we have our very own soft play room, specifically designed for

children aged under 5. In this room the children are free to explore the two

tier play area with supervision from the practitioners in their room.

Bumbles believes in working in partnership with the local children centres

and wider community by providing a wide range of services for all children.

To promote this we will allow outside settings to use the soft play room on a

pre-booked basis.
